Yuri Semenov

Yuri SEMENOV graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory in cello with professor Yuri Alexandrovich Falik and graduate school with professor Anatoly Pavlovich Nikitin. He has worked for the Kirov Theater Orchestra, the All-Union Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Fedoseyev and the State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Pavel Kogan in Moscow, and D.D. Shostakovich Petersburg Academic Symphony Orchestra. From 2000 to the present, he has taught a cello class at the Anatolian University of Eskisehir (Turkey). Among the students of Yuri Semenov are 12 laureates of international competitions in Turkey, France, Hungary and Russia. He performs regularly and has been the initiator of numerous interesting musical projects. He has recorded several dozen rarely performed compositions for cello (about two hours total duration) by Russian composers for the All-Union Radio Fund, and is the editor-compiler of three collections of cello music published in Moscow and Minsk.
